Mini flasks (up to around 300 ml of water) are made for mini and travel hookahs. Less water means warmer smoke than you get from a standard flask. Add ice if that bothers you. For home sessions, a full-size flask is the more comfortable option. For travel, a mini flask is a logical compromise. Smaller rig, smaller flask, easier to pack. Just don't expect the same smoke temperature as your daily setup.
Mini hookahs often use a 14 mm connector instead of the standard 18 mm. Check the inner diameter of your stem's neck before you buy. Most mini hookahs and flasks are non-standard in subtle ways, so the safest move is to either buy the flask and stem from the same brand, or confirm compatibility from the product description before ordering. If you're unsure, ask. Mini sizing has more variance than full-size sizing, and a 1 mm difference is enough to make the flask leak or not seat at all.
Borosilicate glass is clearly the better choice here. It handles knocks and temperature swings far better than standard glass. When you pack the flask in a backpack, wrap it in a thick sock or scarf for extra padding. Mini flasks have relatively thick walls for their size, but that doesn't change the basics. Drop one from any decent height and you'll get a crack. Treat it like camera glass: protected in transit, careful on unpack, and you'll get years out of it.
